Our agency was founded in 1927 by R.C. Yost, a gentle caring man who believed in providing customers quality insurance with a personal touch. When the business began, it also provided real estate and accounting services. From its inception, Yost founded the agency on values such as integrity and professionalism. Years later, his son (Homer) would follow in his father's footsteps and join the family business. Homer was known for his kind, fun-loving spirit. He regularly brought his faithful canine companion, Punkin, to work with him. In 1963, Homer took over the agency after his father's passing. At this time, the agency name evolved from the R.C. Yost Agency to The Homer Yost Agency. Even though the name changed, the philosophy of excellence in customer care never wavered. Those same foundational values were continued under the leadership of Homer’s daughter, Anne Wolf, until her retirement in December of 2022. From the carriers we represent, to our knowledgeable staff, our goal is always to maintain these core values. We are proud to have earned the trust of our clients, many who have remained with us across generations.

In 2010, Homer Yost joined the Brooker Family of Businesses which is headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio. The company is currently under its third-generation of leadership in the Brooker family, led by the founder's grandson, Malcolm D. Brooker, Jr.
Brooker has allowed Homer Yost to continue to grow and offer our clients additional services such as employee benefits, commercial transportation coverage, and full-service mortgages. As we build on the past, and look ahead toward our century mark in 2027, we will continue the legacy of providing dependable insurance service with a personal touch.
